My popular on-line Idrija Lace patterns Design course begins again in October 2025 and you are kindly invited to join in!
The course consists of 10 weekly live group Zoom meetings, followed by individual work and pattern corrections via email. In this course you'll learn how to draw lace patterns by hand. Main technique used in the course is the 5-pair cloth stitch (the so-called "narrow tape Idrija lace") so basic knowledge of any tape-lace technique is welcome. No particular drawing knowledge or skills are required, however, since we start simple and then gradually proceed to more demanding designs.
Each lesson of the course is dedicated to a different design topic, followed by designing a new lace pattern. Topics range from a simple, abstract tape-lace design to adding other lace techniques to your designing repertoire, creating repeating patterns, motif lace, a collection of lace jewelry and 3d lace pattens.
The autumn course will take place on Wednesday evenings at 8.00 p.m. (please consider my current (summer) time is UTC + 02:00 and will change to UTC + 01:00 (winter time) during the course).
Price/person: 150,00€.
